Weight gain issue lol

Well I wish I could put the weight gain down to the food - but unfortunately not! Its the large amounts of fluids being pumped into me - managed to gain 3 kilos (just short of 7 pounds) in 26 hours!!! lolololol

It is going down now - they gave me summat to make me pee more and more and more lol.

Its not been a bad couple of days not a great deal of sleep - but hey its a hospital.
I must say the staff are great.

I shall be off home this afternoon :-)

I think Bruv No 2 coming over to see me 2moro so that will be good - I promised to cook him shepards pie/cottage pie whatever it is lol, I'm too good to him lol.

Think I might pop down to the restuarant for a bacon sandwich now, dont fancy cold toast n soggy cereal on the ward.

Signing off for now.

For over 20 years I’ve been a sufferer of Crohns disease
After all this stuff maybe a little remission
Pretty please, pretty please, pretty please

Just 3 days left til lift-off – it’s all running around in my head
My own little harvest festival
That’s assuming the NHS has a bed

All my treatment n procedures being done a Guy’s
I managed to pass all the tests
Unfortunately no diploma, so it doesn’t mean I’m wise

Trying to find summat that rhymes with chemo
I suppose if it turns me orange
I could say I’d end up looking like Nemo!

Another tricky one is the Stem Cell Transplant
Why are all these words so tricky?
Racking my brain for a rhyme – but sorry I just cant!

First we have the harvest, the transplant is to follow
It’s gonna make me kinda sick
No doubt sometimes in self-pity I shall wallow

It’s pioneering stuff, a shot at being in good health
It could drastically change my life
That’s when you can truly call me a woman of REAL WEALTH!! :-)

All signed and sealed and next week I'm theirs lol

YEP - DONE IT!!
had consent appt today with Jenny (Doctor) signed all the paperwork (2 consent forms) and went through the procedure/plan again it stands as in previous post - and this time next week (if there is a bed!!) I will have had my first dose of chemo - SCARY S**T!!

It did cross my mind whilst in my appointment as to why I am doing this through choice - for some there is no real choice, mine is purely a quality of life decision not a mortality issue!
But hey had crohn's for over 20 years now - so all my adult life - and probably spent 5 of those years in the toilet!! and wow alot of time in hospital and everyday in pain so maybe this will change my life for the better ................. we shall wait and see!

Yeah gonna get very sick and spend quite alot of time in hospital but hey if it works it will hopefully save me spending alot of time being sick and being in hospital ...........lol there is some kinda logic in there honest!

Wow 2 posts in one day even if one is just pretty pics (they take ages to upload lol)- time for a rest now - I hear you all breathe a sigh of relief :-)

I will sleep and try n think of something witty for my next post! maybe even a poem lol

More comments pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

A change of Plan and Schedule and a new Photo!!

Whilst getting my Rugby player fix yesterday I had a call from Claire, consent appointment for today was cancelled until next week Thursday 20th, and they have been discussing me (well who can blame em lol)

They have revised my stem cell mobilisation and harvesting - it now reads as ......
27th and 28th August - into Guys for a couple of days for a spot of light chemo!! (Cyclophosphamide, for the medics amongst us), (yep not too sure you can use light and chemo in the same sentence but I just did!!) this is to suppress my stem cells - hoping they will spring back to millions and millions with the GCSF injections.

29th, 30th and 31st - No Treatment. :-) ummm a Bank Hol weekend - me and hospitals have a nasty habit of mixing around Bank Hol weekends lol

1st Sept - Blood Test.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th September- GCSF Injections (growth hormone factor thingy to mobilise my stem cells) - some of these done at home some at the hospital with a few more blood tests thrown in for good measure!)

7th - STEM CELL HARVEST!!

8th and 9th - possible Stem Cell Harvest - kinda depends on how many I harvested - still not too sure if harvesting is being done as an in-patient or not - depends on the veins!

Right now for the important bit - WOW!!!!! wot a great day yesterday - all the players were great taking time out for photos and signing shirts n stuff as always.

Hence the new photo !!- Jonny and the ugly bird lol (yep thats me!!) I did think it was a little soon to be mentioning the harvesting of my eggs as it was the first time we have met - but hey maybe next time lololololol
Had a wicked day with Elaine and Amy - who we have discovered is an event queen - she loves it, knows jack s**t about Rugby but loves a hottie lol

Bit sorry I missed Joe Worsley for a signature this time :-( but hey ya cant have it all - WHY BLOODY NOT I SAY!!

Will try n post up a few pics from yesterday :-)

Paula xx very very :-) but very very tired!!

Tuesday, 11 August 2009

Well nothing to report on the hospital front cos I not been there - just for a change.
Off to Twickenham tomorrow (Wednesday) they have a fun day and open training session and signing session and there is a rumour Jonny Wilkinson will be there - not got his signature ........YET!! :-)
I have added a counter to my blog the other day - and a few of you have been looking ...... but no comments!! Come one people you must have something to say! ?????
Do you think I am doing the right thing?
Do ya think I am chatting s**t?
Egg harvesting - any views on that?
What did you have for dinner? lol

I had a lovely weekend round at Col n Elaine for dinner and Wii games saturday :-)
and boat trip down the Thames to Greenwich with Mary and K-Le - excellent and informative commentary by Ben - thanx to you all, follwed by lunch and a serious nap!!!! crashed and burned!

Night night all

6 days off - WEYHEY!!!!!

:-) :-) :-) face - got 6 days off no medical people to see til next Thursday!!

I had Osteopath last Friday

Gastro appt - Monday, just a check up n chat (bloods in a few weeks), but apparently I have passed the tests I had last week :-) also got a gold star in lethargy, stomach cramps and diarrhea and aches in my joints just for a change lol, dont ya just love crohns disease!! also realised my hospital notes weigh nearly as much as I do!!

Tues - Doctors appt - Vitamin B12 and Depo Inj

Wed - Nuclear Med (yup I was radiated lol) had to have a test to see if my heart was working ok - they need a base line reading before they zap me with chemo.

and today Thursday I had an MRI scan - to check if I have an abscess in my a**e!! yep not on it or around it ................... UP IT!! Supposed to be kind of common in peeps with crohns (I know maybe too much information) as if I do have one its gotta be sorted as any kind of infection could hold everything up ................ GGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

And now no-one medical to see until next Thursday - my consent appt day - they day of no return!! being a proper grown up!

I would like to wish everyone a happy Jamaican Independence Day today! I know this because the wonderful Jeanette (she works in the pharmacy at Boots) is going out on the lash tonight (Soo Jealous!!) She has also promised to share her Chicken, Rice and Peas next time she cooks - I missed out this weekend, but she now has my mobile number and will call next time she cooks. Pauline's (my neighbour/friend) who is a wicked cook has also often donated chicken, rice and peas to the Paula get well fund!! and Mary with her 'get well chicken casserole' - yeah I know they spoil me!! - but hey I'm worth it lolololol

Well that's kinda it for now - if anyone is reading this?????????????? If you are, any chance of a 'hello' comment or 'shut up' or something please as I got no idea if anyone is out there!
