Well took myself of to bed Friday afternoon for a nap - as I felt like c**p and missed a call from Claire asking me to ring her, by the time I crawled outta my pit she had gone home. Was gonna go on boat trip down the Thames with Mary but had to take a rain check :-( I will get on one of those boats one day lol
So my wild and wonderful imagination was working overtime ALL weekend as to what had gone wrong with my tests I had done Thursday and what they had found and was thinking everything was all gonna be cancelled.
Well I did get some time out - spent 5 hours playing Wii resort games with Elaine and Colin on saturday - it was wicked, cheers guys!! (mind you my little wings were hanging off Sunday lololol)
Saw Claire yesterday and found out what the call was about - more harvesting ...... of my eggs!!, being a woman of child bearing age they have to offer to harvest and freeze my eggs - just in case I ever want children, well being 42 (and a half next week) - I decided against this, (yup another life changing decision) I will never be a parent! ( I can hear some of you sighing with relief no little paula's running around!)
Had some bloods done for Gastro yesterday (appt next Monday) and my lung function test for the transplant so keep yr bits crossed they are ok.
Most people have a diary or calender I have an A4 sheet with the next month drawn up on it - out of the next 31 days I have a medical appointments of one description or another or injections for 13 of those days ......... so far!! (Im sure this number will increase) wow Im gonna be bloody busy - no time to be sick lololololol.
Well thats it for today - more to follow im sure :-)
Thanks for looking in.

Todays Offering - a bit more info :-)
Hiya
Well went to see Clare yesterday (Transplant Nurse) and had a good chat about the harvesting of the stem cells - we get that done first then we will discuss the transplant or its just information overload for my little brain!
Has a few tests yesterday - loads and loads of bloods, ecg, chest x-ray - still got to have mri scan (6th Aug) and lung function test (27th July) but lets all keep our fingers crossed these are ok and this can still go ahead otherwise I shall feel totally robbed and hugely disappointed!!
All being well with the tests I shall do all the consent stuff on the 13th Aug.
The the plan is:
21st, 22nd, 23rd August - I get to stab myself with needles twice a day (just call me lucky) I need to inject myself with with G-CSF its a growth factor injection so my body make loads and loads of stem cells for harvesting.
Then on the 24th, 25th, 26th August - if I have enough stem cells (if not enough cells I will need more injections).
I will be admitted to Guys for the harvesting - as I have really bad veins in my arms they cant do it as an outpatient and need to go in through my femoral line (groin) and I cant be wandering around South East London with a tube hanging outta my groin now can I lol, all being well they will get sufficient cells and pop them in the freezer for transplant later on.
The hormone factor can make you a bit achey in some joints n stuff and a bit feverish but nothing too major.
Well thats about it really for todays offering - if you really want to read up on all this you can go to Leukaemia Research or Macmillan Cancer websites and look up stem cell transplants - its the same procedure for the treatment of crohn's as is for cancer.
I will let you know if anything else interesting happens - if not it will be quiet here for a couple of weeks :-)
Bye for now

And also to say Hello as she is my first follower :-)

Hi, well most of you will know me and thats why you are here!! or you are just surfing the net and found me. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'SMEEEEEEEEEEEE!! is that you?? lol
Well whoever you are you are all welcome as are you comments (good, bad or indifferent)
I am hopefully about to embark on a new, scary and possibly exciting journey - Stem Cell Replacement Therapy for the treatment of my crohn's disease! (subject to a few tests - NO not general knowledge tests - the medical kind)
I will hopefully be updating this blog as often as possible subject to my health and internet connections!
I could be in hospital for 4 to 6 weeks and had to do something to annoy you all in case I use up all my free mins n texts on my mobile and obviously to keep me sane ...... ummm I hear you say - sane - NEVER!!
The plan so far is to harvest/collect the stem cells (my own I hasten to add not having any stem cells from strangers!) early to mid August 2009 - and to have the dreaded chemotherapy and replacement early to mid September 2009 - if the swine flu doesn't get me first lol.
