The transplant due from platform ........

Is delayed!!!!

Had my tooth out - but the infection is still there so my transplant has been delayed as they don't wanna run the risk of it flaring up whilst Im having chemo - fair enough it is an unnecessary risk so maybe next week or the week after.

I had my Hickman line fitted on Wednesday and must thank the lovely Claire for arranging sedation cos that would have bloody hurt without it!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway feel a little like Frankenstein's monster with a tube in my neck and coming outtta my chest with 3 little cannula type things hanging off it lol - SO ATTRACTIVEEEEEEEEEEE!!
Only the bolt thru my neck is missing!

So I ran round like a looney for most of the week getting stuff sorted - and now I get a least another week to trash the house and start again lol.

Let ya know summat interesting when I do lol unless you got summat interesting to share with me?????????????

Dental Issue ............ Grrrrrrr

My bloody abscess came back over the weekend and my dentist is not keen to touch it due to chemo - its never easy is it!
Got more anti-biotics - spent 4 hours at the hospital emergency dentist yesterday - oh wot joy! and gotta go back today to have the tooth removed this morning and more IV anti-biotics.
Also have an appt with Claire (transplant nurse) gotta drop off a 24 urine sample - wow I get to do some great stuff!! and Rachael (dietician) this afternoon - ummmmmm hair loss and tooth removal well that wont do the weight issue any good will it, better wear some heavy clothes lol.

I have had one or two strange looks wandering round with my bandanna's on - people who know me but not too well don't know about the treatment I have opted to go through have looked and kinda smiled oddly - almost sympathetically, haven't noticed anyone purposely avoiding me yet - thinking the worse and that I have cancer, its kinda a strange situation but I am sure it will happen, I suppose its an obvious assumption but still kinda strange.

My friends on the other hand have been great - shouts of 'Oi Tuffy' and 'oooh that reminds me I haven't had a boiled egg for ages' and various other things - they are all digging out their kids fuzzy felts to make me some eyebrows for when they fall out lol oh and just to clarify so far the ONLY place my hair has not started to fall out is my ............................... ARMS!
I know you are all dying to ask lol - but hey got another week of some serious chemo to come so suppose it will all go then.

Shiny, Shiny, Shiny!!!

Had hospital appt yesterday - just a Gastro chat n bloods, nothing major, then I went and did it .......................................
Couldn't stand all the hair falling out n looking patchy (started to look like a right victim lol) so went and got it ALL SHAVED OFF!! clippered off then razored - SHINY SHINY SHINY!!
and now a little chilly round the ol noggin lol

C-fer just kinda looked at me, shrugged and went back to sleep - Bubble stared and stared then ran away lol bless - I frightened him, he is starting to come round now but still just keep looking at me going WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOME SWEET HOME!

Finally got home early evening on Saturday - and how lovely it is to be here :-)

Still a little weak n wobbly - tummy still very upset cos of anti-biotics and and hair is coming out in lumps so ...... got hospital appt in the morning (just for a change lol) then gonna get my head shaved otherwise me, c-fer and bubble will all be choking on fur balls!

Transplant now scheduled to start on 26th Septmeber - will let ya know if it changes - yup thats less than 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bored, Bored, Bored, Bored

Yup! you guessed it I'm feeling loads better and now just wanna go home and see my boys

The reason I cant go home is because the IV anti-biotics have seriously given my an upset tummy and my sodium, potassium and summat else levels have really really dropped so gotta have them IV or tablet form to boost the levels grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - see they give ya one thing for summat and it messes up something else!!

OOhh hair will all be gone in a few weeks at this rate!! wow serious fallout!!

Dunno if anyone has noticed but at the bottom the page is a counter so every time you visit me here it clocks up another hit - hasn't been running from the very beginning but for a few weeks BUT ................. something happened yesterday and in the space of about 8 hours I managed to get over 11 thousand hits - so who is gonna confess to having a serious f5 key issue yesterday cos I aint never been that popular in my life, lol unless its the NHS Police or summat lololol.

Explanations or confessions welcome in the comments!! :-)

Todays Post 3 of 3!!!!!

Well the votes have been counted and verified and the results are in ................................

After just one day of harvesting they have enough cells - how about that people - yup I am chuffed, chuffed, chuffed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is so cool - nobody even thought I would be able to harvest until Friday and Saturday - and the unit is not open weekends they had already asked a member of staff to come in on Saturday to do my harvesting - see no faith these doctors lololol.

All being well may be able to go home 2moro - as feeling sooo much better crohns wise and all my harvesting done :-) :-) :-)

Just gotta get a whole new schedule from Claire now as all tests n stuff gotta be re-booked! (again, again, again lol)

Well I'm a happy little harvested bunny tonight.

Well got the call CD34 stem cell levels were good to go for the harvesting - WEY HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So off I trotted to the day unit to be looked after by Gemma, Sarah and Phillip and all - who I must say looked after me wonderfully on Monday when I first came in feeling very very poorly!

I had my femral line put in (not the most pleasant experience but ho hum) - and away we went with the harvest :-)

Ummmm Interesting ……

Yesterday:
Normal stuff bloods, docs n all that stuff waiting for certain levels to drop other to increase I get so confused – but started to feel a little better - then came lunch lets just say I wont be eating ‘tinned fruit’ for a while – but that’s not a story for the blog people sorry – you never know who is looking in lol

Today – ooh lots of new things – feel like I have been kicked by a mule …………… so the GCSF injections are working GROW YOU LITTLE STEM CELLS GROW!!!!!

Oh and my hair – kinda quite a lot came out in the shower well a lot more than normal its getting weak even just after those 2 days of chemo …………BANDANAS AT THE READY – No Jill NOT bananas, cant have them I’m neutropenic lol

Just sitting here waiting for the stem cell count (CD34 levels I think) to come back to see if I’m good for harvesting – lets keep our bits crossed eh!!

Been Poorly - Sorry for not updating :-(

Hi All

Sorry it has been very quiet here of late but been a bit poorly – actually properly Crohns Disease kinda sick – so did the usual and hid from the world!!

I am now back in hospital as of yesterday, and possibly feeling slightly better, but all my schedule has gone a bit wrong again lol (Just for a change)

Been having a wonderful day with lots of fun with canulas (in my arms and my feet!!) for IV antibiotics for my Crohns and I am also Neutrpenic (probably spelt these wrong sorry) (neutropenic – low white count very open to infection) and mountains of blood tests

Maybe staying in til I’m better and then do the harvesting whilst im here not too yet – playing it by ear.

Will update when summat exciting happens lolololol
